Google Chrome has been hit with a series of series hacks over the past weeks and they have been Zero-Day attacks. The term Zero-Day simply means that the vendor, in this case Google Chrome, was unaware of the vulnerability while it was being exploited. Zero-Day is the day the realise and start work on closing the security flaw. Google themselves, at the time of writing this, have been very tight-lipped with details except to say they a high-severity. The US Department of Homeland Security cybersecurity agency said November 12 "An attacker could exploit one of these vulnerabilities to take control of an affected system. These vulnerabilities have been detected in exploits in the wild." This has affected Chrome for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
How to Update Chrome
From the Chrome browser go to the three dots on the top right, go to settings, on the left go to about chrome and force updates. Do it regularly for while as Google will constantly be pushing updates. Remember to relaunch. We recommend enabling auto updates and remember to periodically shut down your browser completely for these updates to complete.About the author
